Prenatal Consultations

We offer prenatal consultations, where you may come to our office and meet with one of our doctors. Please try to make your appointment at least a month before your due date. We look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have about our practice and the care of your newborn. If you are unable to schedule a consultation in person but would have questions about the practice or care of your child, you can call and speak to our clinical nurse manager or office manager.

General Newborn Care

Congratulations on your new baby! Watching your baby grow and develop can be an exciting and rewarding experience. There are, however, many common concerns and questions that you may have as new parents. We will check your baby's growth, development, and feeding and sleeping patterns more frequently in the early months. Our goal is to help you, as parents, learn about your baby as they develop and grow. Our resource page is full of useful books, links to helpful handouts, and classes that will help guide you on this journey. Our nurses and doctors are available at each visit and by phone to answer questions and address concerns that you may have.

Sick Appointments

We reserve time every morning and late afternoon for sick children who need to be seen right away. If your child becomes ill and needs to be seen by a physician, please call our office as soon as you know or suspect that your child needs to be seen. We will always try to see sick children the same day we receive the call. Sick children can normally be seen within 12-24 hours.

School, Camp, and Sports Physicals

School physical forms are provided at each well-child visit if needed. These are yours to copy and use throughout the year. Additional copies may be provided at a later date for a fee. Should you need an additional visit for a more recent form before your child's next scheduled visit for school, camp, or sports, an appointment must be made. Please check with your particular school to be sure of their policy. All other forms may be filled out at a regularly scheduled visit, or at a separate visit. Nevertheless, in order to most timely and effectively fill out the forms, a visit is required for all forms.

New Patients

If we have not seen your child before, we will need a full copy of your child's medical records, including vaccine records before we schedule your first visit. We ask that you arrive 30 minutes prior to your first appointment, unless you are able to print off and fill out all registration forms (click here), then please arrive 20 minutes early. Please bring your insurance card and driver's license or state ID to the visit.

For All Appointments:

Please arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment. We are unable to maintain our schedule during the course of the day if patients arrive late for their appointments. Patients who are late may be required to reschedule their appointments. If you are going to be late, please call us so that we may try to rearrange our schedule. Every effort will be made to accommodate you.

At each visit, you will be asked to document if you have had a change in address, phone number, or insurance information. If this has changed between visits, please let us know. If your insurance information has changed, we ask that you bring a copy of your card to the visit. If you don't have proof of insurance, you will need to pay at the time of the visit, and you may submit it to insurance for reimbursement.

All new patients and patients less than 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or authorized adult guardian in order to be evaluated by a clinician.

Well-Child Exams

Pediatricians consider preventive care to be a crucial part of a child's total health care. Well-child check-ups offer an opportunity to evaluate and monitor your child's growth and development. These appointments are scheduled to allow the time that is required to assess and discuss your child, your family, and your concerns. If you feel you need additional time to discuss the particular concerns of your child, please let us know so that we can set aside the time needed in the doctor's schedule. A little planning will make these visits much more valuable for you. If you have any questions about your child's health, please feel free to bring a written list of questions that we can discuss during the visit. This will maximize the benefit of your visit with us.

Immunizations are discussed and given (if appropriate) at these visits. We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics Guidelines for the schedule of these well visits and immunizations. Typically, well-child routine exams are recommended at 1 and 2 weeks, 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18 months, and yearly between the ages of 2 and 18 years. When calling for appointments for physical exams, please call at least two months in advance, if possible. If an exam is required sooner, an appointment may be available, but may require seeing a physician different than your child's usual physician. We also keep a waiting list of patients wanting sooner appointments, in case of cancellations in the schedule. Appointments may be scheduled up to three months in advance, and for the first 2 years of life, can be done before leaving the office for the previous appointment.
